Dear Parents,

Summer is fast approaching and we are looking forward to another summer of baseball, softball, and of course a lot of fun!  Here are a couple of dates you may want to mark on your calendar:

·         Our Kearsley High School baseball and softball varsity teams are again providing a teaching clinic for us on Saturday, May 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the high school fields.  These clinics are for players ages 7 to 15 and costs only $10.00.  If you have not yet signed up, please call our hotline number at (810) 736-8815.

·         Pictures have been scheduled for June 16th and 17th.  Coaches will be receiving packets the week prior to pictures.

We continue to look for solutions to our parking situation.  Often we find cars on the hill triple parked, parked in the grass or blocking our emergency routes to the fields and delivery routes to our concessions.  Therefore, due to our inability to monitor the parking lots, parking on the hill will be limited to the disabled, elderly and coaches.  If you do not have a disability permit in your car, you must contact Kearsley Baseball League for parking permits.  In addition, only coaches responsible for the pitching machine may drive back to the P5 field.  Everyone else must park in the parking lot by the tennis courts.

There has been some confusion in prior years during inclement weather as to whether or not a game has been cancelled.  Our board has put together the following guidelines to help our players, parents and coaches:

·         In the case of lightening, umpires will call a 15 minute delay.  At this time, fields will be cleared and players should wait in their car until the end of the 15 minute delay.

·         Should lightening occur again before the 15 minute delay is over, the 15 minutes will begin again.

·         This may be repeated as many times as necessary until either the game can resume or the game is called due to time.

·         If a team does not have enough players to complete the game after the delay, they will forfeit the game and the game will not be made up.

·         If a game has 3 completed innings and the game is unable to resume, the game will be considered a complete game.

·         Games cancelled due to weather may be rescheduled on a Friday or any other day where there is an opening as determined by the league.  If a team is unable to make up a rescheduled game, then the game will be a forfeit and there will be no other make up scheduled.

·         Games cancelled prior to game time will be announced on the hotline and on the web site.   Games cancelled at game time or after will not be announced on the hotline or the website as coaches and players will be notified at the fields.  If announcement of cancellations have not been made prior to game time, the game has not been cancelled.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.  Throughout the season you can reach us at (810) 736-8815 or on our website www.KearsleyBaseballLeague.com whenever you need information or have a question, comment or concern.

Thank you,

Kearsley Baseball/Softball League
